FROM THE WAR WITHIN TO A SOUND THAT SPEAKS

HZPROD is a Bosnian-born, New York Raised hip-hop producer crafting cinematic, emotionally driven soundscapes that blend hard-hitting drums with dark orchestral textures. His music sits at the intersection of boom-bap grit and film-score atmosphere, built to tell stories that extend beyond traditional hip-hop boundaries. Born during the Bosnian war, HZPROD’s life began in displacement. His mother fled violence across Slovenia and Germany before eventually settling in the United States, where he grew up in Utica, New York. Those early experiences — survival, migration, and resilience — shaped both his worldview and his music. He later discovered hip-hop while learning English, drawing inspiration from the storytelling and emotional weight embedded in the genre. Years later, after building a career in IT and traveling to over 30 countries, he returned to Bosnia to rebuild his mother’s destroyed home — fulfilling a promise made in childhood. That defining moment reinforced a purpose-driven approach to his work, where music is not only artistic expression but a vehicle for meaning. This philosophy led to the creation of War Torn, a humanitarian-driven project where HZPROD directs personal earnings from the music toward aiding victims of war. The project evolved organically, bringing together artists who connected with its message, including collaborations with established voices across hip-hop. Rather than pursuing traditional industry pathways, HZPROD positioned the project around awareness, storytelling, and impact.
